Dive passes
Formalities and safety
Before you dive
To dive in French Polynesia, you will need to fill in a medical fitness questionnaire for scuba diving. If you answer “yes” to any of the questions, or if you are 60 or over, you will be asked for a medical certificate of fitness for scuba diving issued less than a year ago.
You will also need to show your diver certification card (physical or digital). These formalities are part of the regulations in force in French Polynesia.
Although it is not mandatory, we recommend that you show us your logbook recording all your diving experience. To ensure your safety, it is also essential to tell us about your current physical condition and to let us know about any particular question or concern.
A chamber 3 h 30 away by plane
As the nearest hyperbaric chamber is in Tahiti, about 3 hours 30 minutes by plane from Nuku Hiva, caution and prevention are of the utmost importance.
Given this geographical isolation, Nuku-Dive limits the maximum depth to 40 metres for Level 3 divers and above, and does not allow dives requiring mandatory decompression stops. Certified children under 15 are only offered single dives.
No altitude after a dive
For your safety, going up to the Toovi plateau (over 800 metres above sea level) or Mount Tekao (1,224 metres), whether hiking, horse riding or for any other activity at altitude, is forbidden after a dive on the same day.

Yes, but the morning trip is planned for two successive dives, with the corresponding staff and equipment: it is therefore charged at the full trip price. As the surface interval takes place on board, a person skipping one of the two dives stays on the boat until the end of the morning.
For a standard booking: no fee if you cancel more than 72 hours before the trip; 50% of the amount is due between 72 and 24 hours; 100% less than 24 hours before. A trip interrupted at your request remains fully due. If we cancel, all sums paid are refunded.
For groups and private trips, a 50% deposit secures the dates at booking. The 50% balance is due no later than 60 days before the activity. From 60 days before, the deposit and the balance are no longer refundable if the customer cancels.
Our trips are planned every day according to the weather, and the sites are chosen on the day depending on sea conditions. If we have to cancel a trip, all the sums you have paid are refunded.
