Frequently asked questions

How do I book a dive with Nuku-Dive?

The easiest way is to fill in the form on this page with your dates of stay in Nuku Hiva, the number of people, your accommodation, the activity you are interested in and your diving level. You can also reach us by phone or WhatsApp on (+689) 87 77 26 26. Your meeting point and time are then indicated in your booking confirmation.

Do I need to book my dive in advance?

Yes. From April to October, it is best to book at least one month in advance, and the earlier the better. For groups, we recommend booking one year in advance. You can also try your luck when you arrive, but without any guarantee that we will have room for you during your stay.

How quickly do you reply to enquiries?

We are a small team handling both the office administration and the supervision of our dives. We are happy to reply as soon as possible, and within 24 hours at the latest. An acknowledgement of receipt is sent to you as soon as you submit the form.

What are Nuku-Dive’s opening hours? Are you open all year round?

Yes, Nuku-Dive is open every day of the year, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Dive trips are organised every day, in small groups, depending on the weather conditions and on the participants’ wishes.

Where is the Nuku-Dive dive centre?

Nuku-Dive is located on the small fishermen’s quay in the village of Taiohae, in the south of Nuku Hiva, in the Marquesas Islands. The centre has a small office, a shaded welcome area, a rinsing area, toilets, a shower and a changing room.

Is the transfer between my accommodation and the centre included?

Yes. For every trip, the return transfer between your guesthouse or hotel in Taiohae and the dive centre is included in the activity. The pick-up time is given to you when your booking is confirmed.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Payment is made in cash only, in Pacific francs (XPF): Nuku-Dive does not accept bank cards. ATMs are available at SOCREDO and OPT in Taiohae. Payment with a dive pass is also possible: see the Prices page.

Can you help me find accommodation or a vehicle on the island?

Yes. On our “Nuku Hiva” page, you will find the contact details of the Nuku Hiva tourism committee, who will be happy to help you find accommodation, vehicle rentals and activities. The tourism committee is open every day from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, except Sundays, just a few steps from the dive centre on the small quay in Taiohae. Most accommodation is in Taiohae: one hotel and several family guesthouses.
